Voice Writer Privacy Policy

Voice Writer turns speech into editable text on iPhone and Mac. The app is designed to process dictation locally whenever possible.

Data We Handle

• Microphone audio is used for speech recognition while dictation is active.
• Draft text, custom context words, selected model settings, and local model installation records are stored on your device.
• The app does not use advertising identifiers, analytics SDKs, or tracking.

Optional AI Polishing

If you enable AI polishing and configure an API endpoint, the text you ask to polish is sent to that endpoint to service your request. The endpoint, API key, model name, and prompt are controlled in the app settings. Do not enable this feature with a service whose privacy terms you do not accept.

Local Models

If you choose to install a local speech model, the app downloads model files from the model provider and stores them on your device. Your dictation audio is not uploaded as part of local model transcription.

China Mainland ICP Filing

If Voice Writer is distributed on the App Store in China mainland, the ICP filing number displayed on the App Store product page should match the filing information submitted to MIIT.
